DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT
All of it, at once, for good.
Stepwords never asked for your name, so there is not much to erase — but what there is goes completely, and it goes immediately.
In the app, in two taps
Open Stepwords, go to Account, and choose Delete my account. It asks once to be sure and then does it immediately. This is the fastest route and the only one that needs nothing from us.
If you have already uninstalled
Email support@stepwords.fun and say you want your account deleted. Include your player id if you still have it, or your six-character friend code, or — if you signed in with Apple or Google — send the request from that account's address so we can match it. Without one of those there is genuinely nothing to look you up by, which is the same privacy design that means we never had your name.
What is deleted
Everything attached to the account: the player record itself, every Move you have committed, every board and Draft Key, your daily Draft and Swap counts, your handle, your friend code, and every friend connection in both directions — so you disappear from other people's boards as well as your own. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to revoke the tokens it issued us.
What is not deleted, and why
Nothing is kept about you. Two things sit outside our reach: your subscription, which belongs to the App Store or Google Play and must be cancelled there, and ordinary server logs, which record requests rather than people and rotate on their own.
It is a deletion, not a deactivation
There is no hidden copy and no undo. A deleted board cannot be restored, even by signing back in with the same Apple or Google account — the boards are gone, not detached.
Cancel the subscription first
Deleting the account does not stop the billing, because a subscription is held by the store and not by us. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account, then delete. Doing it the other way round leaves you paying for an account that no longer exists.
